Product Introduction
Steel drag chains are classified into three types—bridge-type steel tank chains, fully enclosed steel tank chains, and semi-enclosed steel tank chains—based on differences in operating environments and application requirements.
Steel drag chains are typically used to guide and protect cables, oil hoses, air hoses, water pipes, and ventilation ducts in machine tools and other machinery. Originating in Germany, steel drag chains were later adopted and further developed with innovative designs in China.
Today, steel drag chains are widely used on machine tools, protecting cables and other components while enhancing the overall aesthetic appeal of the equipment.
Drag chains, rectangular metal flexible conduits, protective sleeves, bellows, and plastic-coated metal flexible conduits all fall under the category of cable protection products.
Steel drag chains are classified into three types based on the operating environment and application requirements: bridge-type steel drag chains, fully enclosed steel drag chains, and semi-enclosed steel drag chains.
Selection Principles
1. Determine the chain plate height hg and the cable carrier model based on the support plate aperture Dma.
2. The inner cavity aperture D1 of the support plate shall be equal to d plus approximately 0.1d (rounded to the nearest integer), where d is the outer diameter of wires, cables, liquid hoses, and gas hoses.
3. Determine the bending radius of the cable carrier based on its functional requirements:
1) When the pipe coupling size of the cable conduit exceeds the inner cavity bore diameter of the support plate, or when frequent disassembly and maintenance are required, a split-type support plate may be selected.
2) When the energy chain needs to support a heavy load of pipes and cables, a high-strength support plate type—monolithic design—should be selected.
3) When a wide variety of pipe and cable specifications and types are installed, frame-type support plates may be used.
4. When the application of machine tool drag chains is subject to limitations or environmental influences, steel strip protective support plates shall be used.
5. Determine the support plate width b1 based on the number of installed cables and hoses, thereby obtaining the drag chain width B.
