Product Introduction
A lead-screw guard is a type of machine-tool protective cover, also known as a lead-screw guard sleeve. It protects components such as lead screws, smooth shafts, spindles, and columns from contamination and damage caused by dust and other external factors.
Process Classification
Based on manufacturing process, they are classified as steel-ring-supported and sewn types.
They are classified by shape into cylindrical, tower-shaped, square, rectangular, elliptical, staircase-shaped, crescent-shaped, semicircular, and various other forms.
According to the connection method, they can be further classified as follows: (1) both ends with collars (clamp-type); (2) both ends with flanges (screw-type); and (3) one end with a flange and the other with a collar. Flanges, in turn, can be divided into PVC flanges and metal flanges.
Folding steel-ring supported
Made from a variety of fabrics supported by steel wire loops and manufactured using high-frequency heat-sealing sleeves, with a fixed outer diameter. It operates reliably across a temperature range of 110°C to -40°C. The product offers excellent resistance to dust, oil, emulsions, and chemical agents, while maintaining a neat appearance and excellent dimensional stability. Its tight fit and rigidity make it suitable for ventilation and dust collection in a wide range of machinery. Custom diameters and lengths can be provided to meet specific customer requirements.
Fold-sewn style
Depending on the working environment, a variety of materials are available. The product is first formed into circular discs through stamping and then sewn together, with adjacent inner edges and outer edges stitched to one another. This sewing process ensures good dimensional stability and strong lateral reinforcement. Based on the installation method, products can be categorized as integral-type, zipper-type, hook-and-loop fastener-type, snap-button type, and more, offering greater convenience for users during installation.
Job Characteristics
It can extend or contract in sync with the moving component and can be used either vertically or horizontally. When installed in a horizontal position, plastic or aluminum support rings are employed to maintain a uniform gap between the shield’s inner cavity and the lead screw, thereby extending its service life. For applications requiring a large extension length, metal rings are added at each fold to enhance the shield’s stability. The connection or mounting end may be fitted with a metal flange, or a collar-type mounting option can be selected.
